I removed IE 6 when I installed IE 7. Where can I go to download IE 6 again? I can't find it on

You won't find it.

It's obsolete now.

Uninstall IE7 and you should revert to IE6.

Better yet

Try Firefox instead

Uninstall 7 and 6 comes back automatically, since it is an intergral part of windows xp.
The unistallation of IE 7 will restore the previous version.
Go to :

Control Panel

Add Remove Programs

Choose:

Add Remove Windows Components

There you will find the option to reinstall IE6

IE 6 didn't disappear, it's just hidden or packed away in your computer right now. The only way to get back to IE6 is to uninstall IE7 which you can do by navigating to this location:

"C:\WINDOWS\ie7\spuninst\"

And clicking on "spuninst.exe".

Or you could open up your "Start-%26gt;Run" and paste in the following:

C:\WINDOWS\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe /quiet /forcerestart

-= IF YOU GO THIS ROUTE YOUR COMPUTER WILL RESTART =-

Also, keep in mind that IE7 will be uninstalled.

You might also want to try Firefox. I switched to it recently because I do not like the user interface of IE7.
Always download Microsoft Products from Microsoft. Other links could lead to malicious software that could take control of your computer and/or steal private information.

Here's the official link to the download.

You can also try Firefox

http://www.mozilla.com
get ie 6 from microsoft.com or visit www.oldversion.com uninstall the ie7 than install ie6
You can get rid of it with System Restore (Help and Support -%26gt; Restore my computer to an earlier time)

Firefox does work quite well!

Good luck!

Hi,

I went through the same experience. The previous answers of going to your control panel screen, clicking on ADD/REMOVE programs and then selecting IE V7.0, and removing it are correct. But remember to reboot the system after doing this and like the other folks said your system should be back up running IE V6.0 or IE V6.1. HOWEVER, there are two potential dark areas: 1) If it does come back up OK with IE V6 then make sure that you go back and run MICROSOFT UPDATE to ensure that you pick up any latest patches to IE V6. 2) The worst scenario which I had was that I was running a BETA test version of IE V7.0 and tried the same process of deleting it and going back to IE V6. It sort of worked but all all of a sudden many programs, Internet sites, ACTIVE X entries, and even most JAVA applications stopped working (like they used to). If this similar situation occurs with your system you will need to either seek a seasoned expert or contact Microsoft Support, as you will have to manually "reinstall" (or recreate) certain software certificates and permissions. This was what I ran into when I was running the 2nd BETA version of Internet Explorer V7 and tried reverting back to V6.0

BEST OF LUCK
